Israel recently passed laws to legalize the murdering of Palestinian prisoners; not any Israeli ones - only the Palestinians, which makes it another part of the genocide. Now Trump is also calling for more severe types of death penalties! This hateful killing stuff really must be stopped. Seriously, the most hard core criminals include those who want to kill people in ways that make them suffer, like through electrocution, or a firing squad, or the "lethal injections" that are designed to paralyze them while they writhe in pain before they actually die.
I oppose the death penalty, especially that which is
cruelly done in ways that make the person suffer.
But I have asked myself if I would approve of the death penalty if it were done humanely, like with what doctors use to put people to sleep before a surgery. And I just keep feeling like it should be the choice of the prisoner. Why not give those types of prisoners the choice to remain in a cell for the rest of their lives or to end their lives through a way that gently puts them to sleep. If its their choice and its done humanely, it does not feel wrong.
I also strongly feel that people, like those who are terminally ill, should have the right to choose a compassionate death instead of being made to suffer for too long. And they should be allowed to do it themselves in their own homes.
