Updated 6-22-2026; It looked like it was over, based on what they initially said. But then the chaos continued; Israel continued bombing Lebanon, and Iran aimed to re-close the straight due to this breach of the MOU. After this Trump belligerently swore and appeared to have threatened to kill Iran's spokesmen, while they were doing "peace" talks in Switzerland. Then Vance was pretending all was going fine and was telling people not to trust what Iran says, even though Iran has proven to be the more honest side in this situation. Its a crazy twisted mess, due to Israel and Trump's and Vance's behaviors and the unfair terms they are pushing for in the final deal with Iran. Trump should be stopped from doing further damage to Iran, and stopped from trying to control Iran's money and where it is spent...etc.
The real core reason why Israel and Trump illegally attacked Iran, to begin with, was to destroy Iran's capability to fight against Israel's violent thieving crimes in Palestine and Lebanon and Syria, which would also foil Trump's money-making plans for Gaza. And it appears that Trump also hoped to take complete control over Iran and steal it's oil and rare mineral deposits...etc.
It appears that Trump did not fully accomplish any of this, although he did surely cause a lot of damage to Iran's military ability to defend itself and its Palestinian and Lebanese neighbors from Israel's violent thieving crimes. I do not know if Trump has permanently stopped, or if he is just waiting for something to use as an excuse to resume violent attacks against Iran...etc. Time will tell.
Israel's crimes against the Palestinians and Lebanese and Iranian people also must be stopped, including Israel's illegal "occupations"/invasions in Lebanon and Syria and the West Bank and Gaza, in order for there to be a chance for real genuine peace in the Middle East.
PEACE CANNOT HAPPEN THROUGH KILLING AND STEALING FROM PEOPLE.
BUT IT CAN HAPPEN THROUGH STOPPING THESE CRIMES.
