These poems came from my upset over the wars we are now faced with, at a time when the complete opposite has been so desperately needed (for sooooo long) here and America as well as in Palestine and Lebanon and Iran and all the other places that have been being violently attacked by greed and hate.
As I wrote these poems I mainly thought of Israel's crimes, but they also apply to all others, especially those who attack under the false guise of it being for defense even though they themselves are the ones who started the violence and its just a few of their wounded victims who are the ones who truly fight in defense. Most of their victims are harmless and unarmed children, mothers, fathers and grandparents.
What they do is almost unfathomable; dropping bombs on people is so cruel and barbaric that I can't even think of the words to describe it. Sometimes I find it shocking that there are still human beings who are so sick and so heartless that they would do such a thing, and that the rest of humanity does not prevent it from happening or at least stop it as soon as it starts.
Bombing of the Arabs

This war carries a truth that you cannot ever hide.
You may deny it to yourself or believe those who lied.
But it oozes from the deserts in the saddest constant tune;
The cries of martyred children in every blood drenched dune.
The Heartless Bombers

You who order the bombings
And you who blindly obey,
Do you think any of us
Come out of it unscathed?
What do you think happens
There on the other side?
Through her last breath,
"Papa," she softly cried.
Another suffering toddler's
Sad and lingering sound,
Among the bloody body parts
You scattered all around.
And there is all the rest -
The suffering wounded others;
Killed, wounded or traumatized
Fathers, siblings, mother's.
Would you drop the bomb
If they were your own?
Would you even care?
Is your heart a stone?
How many killed or hurt
Beyond full repair,
In your total lack of
Needed genuine care?
The Cowardly Killers
Copyright Sharon R. Poet 3-5-2026
They sit behind shields
In their safe machines,
Shooting bullets, bombs
Or harmful laser beams.
Defenseless people writhe
Beneath their lethal guns;
Minds, bodies and hearts
With no safe place to run.
One bullet shot and
Another life unsaved;
Another wounded family
With tears now engraved.
One bomb dropped and
Dozens of lives lost,
Hundreds deeply wounded,
And we all pay the cost.
One laser beam shot and
More secret wounds untold.
Masses of people suffer
With no reason to behold.
They are just too cruel,
Too cowardly and unkind.
A brave Heart to care
Is what they must find.
I hope they do find it
Deep inside themselves,
And leave their crimes
On the forever shelves.
PLEASE STOP ALL THE HORRID KILLING AND LET
THE WORLD SETTLE INTO REAL AND GENUINE PEACE!
