Trump was clearly reading from a prompter, so actually did not get into very much of his usual rambling and arrogant boasting about himself. But his speech was still a disgrace to the UNITED States of America and its core values of true unity and peace and freedom for ALL American people.
I am an independent who does not lean left or right. And I feel that a speech to the citizens of America should NOT have been degrading the Native Americans and dividing people through calling its democrat citizens "communists" and pumping people to "fight" against them. He was clearly only addressing the Republican part of America, (only about 30% of America) and this is not right.
A PRESIDENT IS SUPPOSED TO SERVE ALL OF
THE PEOPLE, NOT JUST HIS OWN PARTY!
Overview; Trump's speech started out with an extreme arrogance, that put down all the other nations and people's in the world. Then he degraded the Native Americans, and appeared to be trying to upset them, by saying, "We treasure justice, fairness, family, honesty and human dignity, unlike societies based on class, clan or tribe.... in America we speak English, because that is the language of our founding for a thousand years."
Then he launched into pumping people up to "fight, fight, fight" against "the communists." He said, "As for those who peddle Marxist lies about our heritage, tell our children that we live on stolen land, or that our heroes were oppressors, they're doing something much worse than slandering our past - they are slandering and attacking our future." (This is degrading the Native American truths!)
Then he insinuated that all democrats are communists when he said, "America will never be a communist country. We can only lose the midterms... if we are foolish stupid and unwise... the communist party is made up of illegal immigrants, criminals and everybody that doesn't want to work. Communism is a loser."
Then he launched into more arrogance and boasted about his violent attacks on Iran and Venezuela. When he said "the best is yet to come" it raised hairs on the back of my neck, because this means that he is planning more violence against places that have the oil and rare earth minerals he wants, and/or that are opposed to his and Israel's crimes.
Over-all, his ways are a disgrace to America and are trashing America in the eyes of the rest of the world, yet he thinks he is gaining "respect." He is a seriously troubled man who is not fit to be our president. Below are a few statements that show how completely opposite my values are to his. And I think most people share my values...
It is through acknowledging the mistakes of the past that we heal and build a better future! America is not perfect, but it had been getting better through past 250 years.
Extreme arrogance, that boasts of being "the best", puts down and insults everyone else and promotes negative feelings. Its rude and inconsiderate. America is a great country, but it should not boast of being better than all others, if it wants good relations with other countries. (This same concept is true for us as individuals.)
A very important part of America's greatness is in the way it has been growing/healing through the past 250 years; America is where brave people stood up against and abolished slavery and then embraced the freed slaves and made them citizens with equal rights. (We cannot claim this accomplishment while pretending that the horrors of slavery did not happen!) Past presidents in America have acknowledged, and apologized for, the horrid mistreatment of the Native American people. We are in the process of healing from those mistakes. (But full healing cannot take place if we start denying the reality of what some of the early settlers did to the Native Americans.) America is not perfect, but it has been getting better, through facing and learning from its mistakes and this is what makes it truly great. People like Trump should not be allowed to destroy America's true history - America's true greatness.
More may be coming soon...
