A VIP Part of America's Greatness

A very important part of America's greatness is in the way it has been growing/healing through the past 250 years; America is where brave people stood up against and abolished slavery and then embraced the freed slaves and made them citizens with equal rights. (We cannot claim this accomplishment while pretending that the horrors of slavery did not happen!)
   Past presidents in America have acknowledged, and apologized for, the horrid mistreatment of the Native American people. We are still in the process of healing from those mistakes. (And full healing cannot take place if we start denying the reality of what was done to the Native Americans.)
   America is not perfect, but it has been getting better, through facing, being honest about and learning from its own mistakes and this is what makes it truly great. Yet, Trump has been trying to hide the slavery and Native American parts of our history, and in doing so also has been trying to erase two of America's greatest accomplishments. (And there are other truly great parts of America that he has been trying to destroy, like our freedom of speech - our right to stand up against wrong doings and disagree with our presidents, which wise American's have fought hard to gain and retain through the past 250 years...etc.)

People like Trump should not be allowed to destroy America's true history - America's true greatness!

I have a vision of Native American floats included in 4th of July parades, as a symbol of us all uniting and sharing our ways, like we would have done if the leaders of various Christian religions had not banned them from early settler societies. We should have all united to learn from each other, and grow together. This was not allowed then, but it can happen in the future. America has not grown to that point yet, but I believe it will be, someday. Wouldn't it also be nice to have floats that depict the slavery and those people being set free? I think so. This is the REAL America. '

Imagine what America would be like if the Natives and new settlers had been allowed to remain together, as neighbors learning from each other. I think it would be far better than it has been, for everyone.
