Fading ink used on bank receipts

Within two years, the receipts, that i was given for proof of opening two bank accounts, faded to the point of being unreadable. Is this being done to only targeted people like myself or everyone? Either way, it should be illegal, because it can leave a person with no solid proof of how much money was put into the accounts, especially since "online banking" and no paper reports being mailed has been being pushed upon people.
